Assessment of Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence

This fifth edition from The Guilford Press is a course text and practitioner reference on evidence-based assessment of child and adolescent problems. It was extensively revised, with 90% of its content written for this edition, and the 730-page paperback was published in 2022. The previous edition appeared as Assessment of Childhood Disorders, Fourth Edition.

The edition is updated for DSM-5 and ICD-11 and adds chapters on disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder, along with transdiagnostic concerns such as sleep problems and life stressors. Four chapters explain how to use assessment in each phase of treatment, and disorder-specific starter kits list checklists, rating scales, interviews, and progress measures.

Chapters present methods and tools for diagnosis, case formulation, treatment planning, and progress monitoring.
